In a transformational leadership model, the leader is able to inspire and engage their team(s) to not only achieve goals, but he/she also actively works to develop the skills and abilities of each team member. The leader creates a vision, communicates it effectively, then empowers and inspires the team to work towards that vision. In this model, the leader is also a coach and a role model who leads in a way that is consistent with his/her own values and beliefs.
Executive coaching provides that safe and confidential space for a leader to reflect on his/her values, beliefs and experiences; it can help develop important leadership skills such as self-awareness, communication, emotional intelligence, decision-making, and overall provides a structured process and environment to make meaningful changes that impact personal authenticity and effectiveness at the core of the leadership model.
